About Me
Building With Passion, Precision, and a Long-Term Mindset
My name is Michael Lapaggi, and I’m a web developer based in Los Angeles, California. I build websites and digital products for people who want more than something that “looks nice.” I’m interested in work that performs—sites that load quickly, communicate clearly, and stay easy to maintain as the business grows.
My path into web development started with curiosity and problem-solving. I was drawn to the idea that a few lines of code could become something real: a page people interact with, a tool that makes work easier, or a platform that helps a brand get discovered. Over time, that curiosity became a craft. I began focusing on the fundamentals that actually make web projects succeed: structure, usability, and technical reliability.
I’ve worked on a wide range of builds—from small, clean landing pages designed to convert traffic into leads, to multi-page business websites with complex content needs, to custom features that require integrations, automation, or back-end logic. What I’ve learned across all of these projects is that good web development isn’t just building pages—it’s solving communication and workflow problems with a product that users trust.
My approach is calm and organized. I start by understanding the purpose of the site: who it’s for, what action matters most, and what information needs to be delivered quickly. Then I map out a clear structure, design with readability and user flow in mind, and develop with performance, accessibility, and maintainability as priorities. I prefer clean solutions over clever ones, because the best websites are the ones that remain stable and understandable long after launch.
I also care about collaboration. Many clients come in with either a strong vision or a rough idea, and both are completely fine. Part of my work is translating goals into practical decisions: what pages you actually need, what content is missing, what features are worth building now versus later, and how to create a site you can confidently update and expand. I aim to make the process feel simple and transparent—no jargon, no confusion, and no surprises.
I Create Products, Not Just Websites
To me, a website is a product. It has a purpose, a user journey, and a measurable outcome. A portfolio site should build trust. A service site should generate inquiries. A landing page should convert. An eCommerce page should reduce friction. That’s the lens I use when I build—because design without function is decoration, and code without clarity is noise.
That product mindset shows up in the details: content hierarchy, call-to-action placement, mobile behavior, performance tuning, and the “invisible” pieces like analytics setup, SEO foundations, and forms that actually deliver leads reliably. I want the site to feel good to the visitor and practical to the owner.
Frontend and Backend Developer
I work across both front end and back end, which means I can deliver complete builds—not just static pages. On the front end, I create responsive interfaces that look clean and behave well on every device, with careful attention to accessibility, layout systems, and load speed. On the back end, I handle the logic that powers real functionality: form processing, integrations, content management workflows, and custom features that make a site more than a brochure.
Whether you need a new website from scratch or improvements to an existing build, I focus on one thing: creating a dependable digital foundation that supports your business and stays easy to evolve over time.
